3 Hour or 6 Hour Adventure Bike
What is Adventure Bike?
An Adventure Bike is like a an adventure race, except it is just the biking portion. The Adventure Bike races will include navigation (on multiple maps like orienteering, USGS, Topo, satellite), single track biking, paved trail biking, and pretty much anything else you might find in the bike portion of an adventure race.
About the SingleTrack Samurai Challenge Adventure Bike…

The Course
The staging area for the Seminole State Forest Adventure Bike will be the Bear Pond Trailhead of the Seminole State Forest parking area. Wekiva River Road off SR46 just west of the Wekiva River Bridge. Follow FLX Signs from SR46.
Karlos Bernart (the Singletrack Samurai) has been hard at work making this an incredible course. Expect great biking – but also expect to hop from the bike at various locations and explore and discover some of the hidden springs of the Seminole State Forest. We are producing a full brand new map of all the trails and points of interest available in this incredible tract of land.
Seminole State Forest is bisected by Blackwater Creek and bounded on the east by the Wekiva and St. Johns River, on the north by SR44, and the south by SR 46. Incredible amounts of wildlife are regulars in this forest and their is even a chance of seeing Black Bear along with the other creatures that live in this forest.
You will be riding on the hard packed roads and single track of this park. For those scouting – if you are in deep soft sand, you are not on the best course routes through the park. Depending on weather – some sections might be muddy.
The Maps
Teams for both races (6-hr and 3-hr) will have the choice to select which set of maps they use. One set will have controls pre-plotted for easier navigation, while the other set will require more expert navigation (and some plotting) from the teams.Waterproof maps will be supplied.
Hydration
Because we know how hot it can get in Florida during summer, ice cold water (and other refreshments) will be provided at various points throughout the course. But all racers at still required to bring their own backpack with a 100oz (3 liters) capacity.
Race Start
Both the 6-hour and the 3-hour races will have a staggered start between 8:00AM and 9:00AM. Teams will be started a couple minutes apart in order to keep the trail congestion to a minimum. Teams will start in the order the register. So register soon to claim your early start.
