Sport 4 Hour and Elite 10 Hour Adventure Race
The Blairsville Extreme Adventure Race (BEAR) will take place on September 17, 2016. Race director Jeff Leininger along with Race Designer Shane Hagerman will be setting 2 incredible courses.
Teams will be exploring the mountains, rivers, lakes, trails and beautiful woods surrounding Blairsville, Georgia. Home of the highest mountain in Georgia.
The 4 Hour Sport Race is perfect for beginners or families looking to have some fun discovering the outdoors with adventure racing. Easy to read and simple navigation will take you to some hidden spots around Blairsville. Distances are always based on your teams abilities and speed in adventure racing, however between 10-15 miles of mountain biking and 3-6 miles of trekking.
The 10 Hour Elite Race will take teams deeper into the surrounding mountains with some great climbs and an epic paddle. Rogaine trek section and special tasks. Looking for a mountain challenge? Distances are always based on your teams abilities and speed in adventure racing, however between 20-30 miles of mountain biking, 6-10 miles of paddling and 6-10 miles of trekking.
Instructions and (pre-plotted) map provided at check in followed by a pre-race meeting one hour before race start. All teammates must be present to check-in and receive instructions. The later you are the shorter the time to prepare.
Water and snacks will be provided at every TA. Also, there are stores along the way, so bring cash.
T-shirts for all racers, and finisher medals to all finishers.
Post race dinner and award ceremony at Blairsville Georgia at the Civic Center.
